HPP MURASI is a run-of-river hydropower plant located on the Cem i Selcës River in the Kelmend area of Shkodër County, northern Albania. The plant has a total installed capacity of 2.0 MW and has been developed to harness the river's natural hydraulic potential through a diversion scheme integrated into the surrounding mountainous landscape.
The hydropower scheme is designed for a discharge of 3.30 m³/s and a net hydraulic head of approximately 71 m. Its main infrastructure comprises a concrete gravity intake weir, sediment management facilities, a pressure penstock extending approximately 2.2 km, and a powerhouse with a tailrace channel returning the utilized water to the river.
The powerhouse is equipped with three turbine-generator units, each rated at 670 kW, providing a combined installed capacity of 2.01 MW. The three-unit configuration provides operational flexibility under varying river flow conditions, supporting efficient utilization of the available water resources. The plant incorporates the associated hydraulic, electrical, and control systems, together with environmental provisions for maintaining ecological flow and managing sediment transport.
