The PVPP Fortis Ersekë project consists of the development of a utility-scale photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of approximately 62 MWp, located in the Kolonjë Municipality within the Korçë region of Albania. The project is designed in compliance with Albanian energy regulations and aligned with national renewable energy targets, contributing to diversification of the energy mix and reduction of carbon emissions.
The site is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,197 m above sea level, with favorable solar irradiation conditions (GHI ≈ 1514 kWh/m²/year). The total available land area is approximately 84 hectares, optimized through detailed layout design considering shading, terrain morphology, and ground coverage ratio (GCR). Fixed-tilt mounting structures with a tilt angle of 25° are utilized to maximize energy yield.
The plant incorporates 93,800 high-efficiency bifacial mono-crystalline PV modules rated at 660 W each, combined with 45 central inverters (Sungrow SG1100 RFP). The system operates with a DC/AC ratio of approximately 1.25, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. Energy conversion and evacuation are achieved through 8 medium-voltage power stations and a 110 kV transmission line of approximately 2.78 km connecting the plant to the Ersekë substation.
The construction methodology includes civil works for mounting structures, installation of electrical infrastructure (DC/AC cabling, combiner boxes, grounding), and grid interconnection facilities. Environmental considerations include minimizing land disturbance, optimizing layout to reduce shading losses, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
The plant is expected to generate approximately 92,000–95,000 MWh annually, supporting long-term sustainable energy production. Remote monitoring and control systems are integrated to ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the facility.
