The Agrovoltaic Koplik project consists of the design and development of a utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plant integrated within an economic development zone in Koplik, Malësi e Madhe. The project is implemented under a competitive procedure led by the Ministry of Finance and Economy, aiming to promote renewable energy generation while supporting agricultural co-use of land.
The installed capacity of the plant reaches 46.1 MWp (DC) and 37.9 MW (AC), optimized through a DC/AC ratio of 1.21 to maximize energy yield. The system incorporates approximately 70,890 bifacial monocrystalline PV modules rated at 650 Wp, mounted on fixed-tilt structures with a tilt angle of 15°. The plant is divided into multiple generation blocks connected via a 20 kV medium-voltage internal grid to a central substation, which further interfaces with the national transmission network at 110 kV.
The design includes 30 central inverters and five power stations, ensuring efficient energy conversion and grid compliance. Electrical infrastructure comprises underground medium-voltage cabling, protection systems, and a high-voltage evacuation line. Civil works include access roads, mounting structures, trenching for cabling, and drainage systems adapted to site-specific conditions.
Environmental considerations include optimization of land use through agrovoltaic integration, reduction of shading losses, and mitigation of soiling and degradation effects. Energy yield assessments based on PVGIS data indicate stable long-term performance, with lifecycle analysis conducted over 25 years, accounting for degradation and system losses.
The project ensures compliance with Albanian grid codes and international engineering standards, contributing to national renewable energy targets and regional economic development.
