The project consists of the development of a 10 MW grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) power plant located in Osoj village, within the Municipality of Maliq, Korçë region. The project is developed in accordance with Albanian regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects, including pre-feasibility study obligations defined under relevant Council of Ministers Decisions (VKM), ensuring compliance with technical and environmental standards.
The primary objective of the project is to generate clean electricity from solar energy and inject it into the national power grid, contributing to Albania’s renewable energy targets and energy diversification strategy. The plant is designed with a total installed capacity of approximately 10 MW AC and 10.861 MWp DC, optimized through detailed solar resource assessment and energy yield modeling.
The system comprises 16,456 high-efficiency photovoltaic modules (model RCM-660-SDMT2), mounted on fixed-tilt metal support structures with a tilt angle of 25°. The mounting system is based on driven pile foundations and modular steel structures (CrossRail system), designed to withstand local geotechnical and climatic conditions. The energy conversion is managed by 5 Sungrow SG2000 inverters.
Electrical infrastructure includes low- and medium-voltage underground cable networks, with dedicated cable trenches (TU and TM), and connection to the transmission network via a 35 kV system. The evacuation line extends approximately 494 m to the grid connection point. Internal roads, drainage works, and perimeter fencing are included to ensure operational accessibility and site security.
The plant occupies 93,000 m² and is designed with optimized ground coverage ratio (GCR ≈ 0.6) to balance energy yield and land use. Environmental considerations include minimal land disturbance, rehabilitation measures, and efficient cable routing.
The expected annual energy production is approximately 16,711 MWh, with a performance ratio of 87%, ensuring reliable long-term operation over the project lifecycle.
