The Divjaka-1 photovoltaic (PV) plant is a ground-mounted solar energy project developed in the area of Karavasta e Re, within the Municipality of Divjakë, Fier Region, Albania. The project is commissioned by BRECANI shpk, a company active in the development and operation of renewable energy assets, and has been designed by ECOSUN ALBANIA shpk as part of a comprehensive pre-feasibility and technical assessment.
The project aligns with Albania’s national strategy for increasing renewable energy generation and improving energy security, while complying with applicable European and international standards for electrical design and installation. The study incorporates solar resource assessment using Meteonorm, PVGIS, and NASA datasets, combined with simulation modeling (PVsyst) to optimize system performance and estimate annual energy yield.
Technically, the plant is designed with a DC/AC ratio optimized around 1.2–1.25 and operates with a maximum DC voltage of 1500 V. The installation consists of high-efficiency monocrystalline PV modules mounted on fixed-tilt galvanized steel structures. The system includes centralized inverter technology (Sungrow SG1000HV), medium-voltage transformation at 20 kV, and grid interconnection infrastructure. Electrical design follows IEC standards (IEC 60364 and IEC 60502), ensuring minimal transmission losses and high operational reliability.
The site covers approximately 19,200 m² and requires moderate civil works, including land clearing, internal access roads, and underground cable routing. Environmental considerations include minimal land disturbance and planned rehabilitation measures.
The plant is equipped with SCADA monitoring, security systems, and remote communication capabilities to ensure efficient operation and maintenance throughout its lifecycle. The project contributes to sustainable energy production and supports regional development through clean energy generation.
