The Divjaka-3 photovoltaic (PV) plant is a utility-scale solar energy project developed in Karavasta e Re, within the Municipality of Divjakë, Fier Region, Albania. The project is aligned with the national regulatory framework promoting renewable energy development, particularly Law No. 7/2017 on renewable energy and subsequent Council of Ministers decisions supporting diversification of energy sources beyond hydropower.
The project involves the design, construction, and operation of a grid-connected PV system with an installed AC capacity of approximately 2 MW. The technical study and system design were carried out by ECOSUN ALBANIA shpk, based on solar irradiation data obtained from Meteonorm databases, ensuring reliable long-term performance simulations.
The plant utilizes high-efficiency monocrystalline photovoltaic modules (RECOM RCM-680 Wp), arranged in fixed mounting structures optimized for tilt and spacing to maximize energy yield while minimizing shading losses. The electrical configuration includes string inverters (Sungrow SG1000HV), underground cabling systems for both low and medium voltage, and a dedicated transformer station for grid connection.
The site covers approximately 11,000 m² and incorporates internal access roads, drainage channels, and cable routing infrastructure. Environmental considerations include land preparation, stormwater management, and minimal ecological disturbance due to the non-invasive mounting system.
The expected annual energy production is designed to contribute significantly to the regional grid, supporting Albania’s renewable energy targets. The plant is equipped with SCADA monitoring, security systems, and remote communication capabilities to ensure efficient operation, real-time performance tracking, and rapid maintenance response throughout its lifecycle.
