The ECO PARK Devolli Photovoltaic Plant is a utility-scale grid-connected solar energy project located in Osek village, within the Devoll Municipality in the Korçë Region of Albania. The project has been developed in alignment with Albania’s renewable energy strategy and national regulatory framework promoting solar energy generation and grid integration.
The primary objective of the project is to generate clean and sustainable electricity for injection into the national grid, contributing to diversification of energy sources and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The system is designed as a ground-mounted photovoltaic installation on hilly terrain, requiring optimized layout and shading management to ensure high performance.
The plant has a total installed DC capacity of 13.49 MWp and an AC capacity of 12.25 MW. It utilizes 20,436 high-efficiency bifacial photovoltaic modules (RECOM RCM-660 series), mounted on fixed-tilt structures with a tilt angle of 30° and optimized azimuth orientation. The system is supported by 49 Sungrow SG250HX string inverters. The bifacial configuration enhances energy yield by capturing reflected irradiance from the ground, with an optimized ground coverage ratio of approximately 55%.
The expected annual energy production is approximately 19,760 MWh, with a high performance ratio of 89.37%, reflecting efficient system design and minimal losses. The project incorporates advanced loss mitigation measures, including optimized wiring, inverter efficiency, and thermal management.
The site covers an estimated area of approximately 115,000 m², featuring access roads, inverter stations, and internal electrical infrastructure. Power evacuation is achieved through medium-voltage lines connecting to the grid interconnection point.
Environmental considerations include minimal land disturbance, optimized panel spacing to reduce shading, and long-term sustainability over a 25-year operational lifecycle, with an estimated module degradation rate of 0.4% annually.
