The PVPP Green Jupiter project consists of the development of a utility-scale photovoltaic power plant located in the area of Derëzezë e Re, within the Municipality and Region of Fier, Albania. The project has been designed in accordance with national energy regulations and aligned with Albania’s strategic objectives for increasing renewable energy generation and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
The primary objective of the project is to harness solar energy through a high-efficiency photovoltaic system and deliver clean electricity to the national grid. The plant is designed with a total installed capacity of approximately 26.5 MWp (DC) and 22.2 MW (AC), utilizing advanced bifacial monocrystalline modules to optimize energy yield under local climatic conditions.
The site is characterized by relatively flat terrain with agricultural use, allowing for efficient installation of fixed-tilt mounting structures. The selected configuration includes south-oriented structures with an optimized tilt angle of approximately 25°, ensuring maximum solar irradiation capture. The plant integrates Sungrow string inverters and a medium-voltage collection system designed to minimize electrical losses and ensure reliable energy evacuation.
Grid connection is planned through nearby transmission infrastructure, including the developing Hoxharë substation, which enhances network capacity and stability in the region. The construction approach includes site preparation, internal access roads, drainage systems, and electrical infrastructure compliant with IEC standards.
Environmental considerations are embedded in the design, particularly through stormwater management, erosion control, and minimal land disturbance strategies. The project ensures long-term operational reliability with planned maintenance access and robust structural design compliant with Eurocode standards.
Over its operational lifetime, the plant is expected to produce approximately 40,500 MWh annually, contributing significantly to Albania’s renewable energy portfolio and supporting sustainable energy development.
