The PV Solar Plant ORHER is a utility-scale photovoltaic installation developed in the municipality of Fier, Albania, designed to contribute to the diversification of the national energy mix and support renewable energy targets in accordance with Albanian energy legislation and regulatory frameworks.
The project is located in the village of Topoje, within a cadastral zone comprising multiple parcels with a total surface area of approximately 2.63 hectares. The site benefits from favorable solar irradiation conditions, with a Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) of approximately 1552 kWh/m²/year, making it suitable for efficient solar power generation.
The plant has an installed DC capacity of approximately 2.255 MWp and an AC capacity of 2.0 MWp, with an estimated annual energy production of 3,498 MWh. The system consists of 3,416 high-efficiency monocrystalline photovoltaic modules (RECOM RCM-660 series), mounted on a fixed-tilt ground mounting system (CrossRail Ground Mount) with an inclination angle of 25°. The electrical configuration includes 8 Sungrow SG250-HX inverters, ensuring optimal DC/AC conversion and system performance.
The project includes comprehensive civil and electrical works, such as land preparation, internal access roads, mounting structures, cable trenching, and installation of medium- and low-voltage electrical infrastructure. A dedicated substation and grid connection to the 35 kV network via the Hoxhare substation are foreseen, following detailed load flow and system impact studies.
Environmental considerations include minimal land disturbance, optimized layout design, and integration of monitoring and SCADA systems for efficient operation. The plant is enclosed with a security perimeter, including surveillance systems and controlled access.
The operational lifecycle of the plant is designed for over 25 years, with performance degradation accounted for in long-term energy yield projections. Regular maintenance and monitoring ensure sustained efficiency and reliability.
