The PV Plant Pjetroshan is a ground-mounted photovoltaic power project located in the Shkodër region of northern Albania. The development aligns with Albania’s renewable energy strategy and applicable national regulations promoting solar energy generation and grid integration. The project is designed to contribute to the diversification of the country’s energy mix while reducing dependency on hydropower and improving supply stability.
The plant has an installed capacity of approximately 5.06 MWac and 5.93 MWp DC, utilizing bifacial monocrystalline photovoltaic modules mounted on fixed-tilt structures with a 25° inclination. The installation is optimized for local solar resource conditions, with a global horizontal irradiance of approximately 1531.9 kWh/m²/year. The layout covers a total suitable land area of about 6.13 hectares, characterized by relatively flat terrain at an altitude of approximately 86 meters above sea level.
The electrical configuration includes two power stations equipped with central inverters and step-up transformers (0.63/20 kV). Energy is evacuated through a 46 kV overhead transmission line of approximately 3.62 km, supported by 19 towers, ensuring reliable connection to the grid. The system incorporates medium- and low-voltage trench networks, string combiner boxes, and optimized cable routing to minimize losses.
Construction involves modular installation of mounting structures anchored to the ground, followed by panel mounting, inverter station assembly, and grid interconnection infrastructure. Environmental considerations include optimized land use, minimal terrain alteration, and reduced visual and ecological impact.
The plant is expected to generate approximately 8,661 MWh annually, with a performance ratio exceeding 80%. Over a 25-year lifecycle, the project ensures stable renewable energy production with planned maintenance strategies to sustain long-term operational efficiency.
