The PVPP Sheq-Marinas project consists of the development of a grid-connected photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of approximately 2.51 MWp, located in the Sheq-Marinas area within the Municipality of Fier, Albania. The project has been developed in line with the national regulatory framework for renewable energy and contributes to Albania’s strategic objectives for increasing renewable energy penetration and improving energy security.
The primary objective of the project is the generation of clean electrical energy through solar photovoltaic technology and its injection into the public grid. The plant is connected to the medium-voltage network, with integration facilitated through the existing and planned grid infrastructure, including the Hoxharë e Re 110/35/20 kV substation, which enhances regional grid stability and capacity.
Technically, the installation utilizes high-efficiency monocrystalline photovoltaic modules (Trina Solar TSM-670DE21, 670 W), optimized for high energy yield and reduced land use. The system incorporates string inverters (Sungrow SG250HX series) to convert DC power into AC for grid export. The plant layout is designed with fixed mounting structures, optimized tilt, and row spacing to minimize shading losses and maximize annual energy production.
The site is characterized by favorable solar irradiation and stable geotechnical conditions, supporting reliable construction and long-term operation. Civil works include access roads, drainage systems, underground cable routing, and perimeter fencing with integrated security systems.
Environmental considerations include minimal land disturbance, controlled stormwater management, and low operational emissions. The project incorporates monitoring and SCADA systems for real-time performance tracking and efficient operation throughout its lifecycle.
