The Tekno Fire 32.2 MWp photovoltaic (PV) plant is a utility-scale solar energy project developed in the administrative unit of Gjocaj, Municipality of Peqin, Albania. The project is designed in compliance with Albanian regulatory frameworks governing renewable energy generation and grid connection, including requirements from the Transmission System Operator (OST sh.a.) and applicable grid codes.
The primary objective of the project is to generate clean, renewable electricity and contribute to the diversification of Albania’s energy mix, reducing dependency on hydropower and enhancing energy security. The plant has a total installed DC capacity of 32.2 MWp and an AC export capacity of 27.5 MW, connected to the transmission network via a dedicated 110/20 kV substation.
The system comprises approximately 47,000+ high-efficiency monocrystalline PV modules rated at 680 Wp, mounted on fixed-tilt structures optimized at a 25° inclination and south-oriented azimuth. The energy conversion is handled by 11 Sungrow SG2500HV central inverters, utilizing advanced 1500 V DC architecture to enhance efficiency and reduce system losses.
The site spans approximately 322,000 m² and has been optimized through detailed modeling of solar irradiation, temperature, and wind conditions using Meteonorm datasets. The expected annual energy production is approximately 46,630 MWh, with a performance ratio exceeding 82%, reflecting efficient system design and minimal losses.
Construction includes civil works, internal cable routing, grounding systems, and medium-voltage infrastructure, as well as a transmission connection line. Environmental considerations have been integrated, minimizing land disturbance and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental standards.
The plant is designed for long-term operation exceeding 25 years, with provisions for maintenance accessibility, monitoring systems, and performance optimization, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy generation throughout its lifecycle.
